Mary Babcock at Anna Leonowens Gallery in Halifax, Nova Scotia



Assistant Professor and Fibers Program Chair Mary Babcock is exhibiting a new installation Cocoon at the Anna Leonowens Gallery from November 23 - December 4. Mary Babcock who is in Nova Scotia as a visiting artist at NSCAD [ Nova Scotia College of Art & Design] will be giving an artists talk Wednesday November 24 at 12 pm and a participatory performance Friday November 26 at 12 pm.

Assistant Professor and Fibers Program Chair, Mary Babcock has a solo exhibition Hydrophilia opening at Hawai'i Pacific University Art Gallery on November 21. Hydrophilia will be on display until January 14, 2011. Gallery hours are Monday - Saturday 8:00 am - 5:00 pm

Drawing and Painting Professor Debra Drexler and alumni Stephanie Gumpel are exhibiting in Grace's Project at the Doors Art Fair in Seoul, Korea [ Nov. 18 - 22]. They are exhibiting individual works as well as a collaborative painting Dirty Laundry, that they have done as part of the Violet Suns. The collective consists of a triad of established and emerging artists [ Gumpel, Drexler, and filmmaker Jeremy Poindexter].

Steve Coy's Hygenic Dress League unveils "No Vacancy" in Detroit, MI



MFA Alum Steve Coy's Hygienic Dress League will be unveiling it's most recent and ambitious project No Vacancy on November 20th. No Vacancy is a 35 ft neon sign powered by solar energy at the abandoned Roosevelt Hotel in Detroit, MI.
Hygienic Dress League is an ongoing public art project by Coy and his wife Dorota which takes shape as a corporation [officially registered in Michigan] and is based in Detroit.

Cella and Klaus Knoll in Tallinn Print Triennial



Cella and Klaus Knoll will be showing work in the 15th Tallin Print Triennial entitled For Love not Money in Tallin, Estonia. The works will be on display from January 20 - May 8, 2011.

MFA Alum Bernice Akamine and BFA Alum Scott Fitzel have work in the group exhibition Woven Vessels at The Contemporary Museum at First Hawaiian Center.
