Corinne Kamiya (BFA alum) picked as an artist to watch by Boston Globe.The daughter of a Hawaiian papaya farmer, Kamiya worked in bronze until she organized an exhibit of pieces cast in wax. Watching them melt changed her life. "Everything was destroyed," she says. "We knew it would happen. It was so beautiful."
Kamiya is currently working toward her MFA at the Massachusetts College of Art. Her work has also been included in 20 going on 21 at the Contemporary Museum (Honolulu).
