Dustin Miyakawa - AQUATIC AMPHORIC

As an arts partner of the University of Hawaii Arts Foundation, the Waikiki Parc Hotel proudly presents a special exhibit featuring AQUATIC AMPHORIC by pottery artist, Dustin Miyakawa.

AQUATIC AMPHORIC features a series of thrown ceramic vessels referencing the channel parkers that guide ships to and from a harbor.  Miyakawa's work exists at a point of tension between the cultural and artistic perspectives specific to Hawaii's art community, walking a line between East and West, historical and contemporary, vessel and sculpture, art and craft.

AQUATIC AMPHORIC runs from November 6, 2012 to January 4, 2013, at the Waikiki Parc Hotel, 2233 Helumoa Road.
