Yida Wang - New Exhibition in Shanghai!

Yida Wang News:

Mindscape (异域) is a visual exploration by our very own Yida Wang, of the pictorial language in the paintings of mountains and rivers of the Song and Yuen dynasties.  This exhibition, consisting of more than 20 of her recent works, highlights the artist’s latest creative phase.

The overall conceptualization of Mindscape involves both installations and mixed media drawings, in which the artist treats mountains and rivers as a theme that allows her to re-identify with and re-interpret the traditional culture, starting from its visual language.  With a sense of transcendence distilled into her works in terms of memory, experience and visualization, she has found in the veins of the classical spirit a persuasiveness that is entirely her own.

Mindscape is curated by Ping Jie, and organized by the Zhu Qizhan Art Museum at No. 580 Ou Yang Road, Shanghai.  The exhibition runs from October 26th to November 11th, 2012.
